Gallbladder diet
The unfortunate fact of the matter is that many people do not understand the importance of a gallbladder diet till such time they are affected with gallstones. Every year thousands of people are left with no option but to have their gallbladder surgically removed because of sever gallstone pain and other related secondary infections and issues. The gallbladder is a small pear shaped organ that is situated just below the liver. It performs the task of releasing the required doses of an enzyme called bile to the digestive tract in order to digest fat. The gallbladder is not a vital organ but is considered as an accessory organ. Though it is not vital for normal functioning of the human body, it is better to have it rather than do away with it. The best way that we can ensure a full life for the gallbladder is to prevent the occurrence of gallstones. Gallstones are nothing but hardened bile deposits along with cholesterol and calcium. Hence, having a good gallbladder diet that is low of saturated fatty acids is perhaps the best way by which we can remove the risk of gallstone formation in our body.
Though the reasons for formation of gallstones is not very clear, it has been generally found out that genetics, food habits and gender have a major role in its formation. It has been found out that women are more prone to gallstone problems than men, the reason for which has not yet been understood. Another possible reason for gallstone is obesity and being overweight. However based on studies and research it has been found that a good gall bladder diet is at the cornerstone of treating gallstone problems the natural way. However, there are some other reasons like excess bilirubin in the bile and problems associated with improper emptying of the gall bladder which cannot be treated by diet alone. But more than 90% of gallstone problems can be overcome with a good and well planned gallbladder diet.
Though medications may be required to create existing gallstones, a good gallbladder diet may play a very useful role in further formation of gallstones if the reason is due to wrong food habits or obesity problems. The advantage with a good gallbladder diet is that apart form treating the problem of gallstone, it can also be useful in maintaining the overall health and wellness of a person. A important instruction as far as this diet is concerned it so be away from caffeine, cigarettes and aerated drinks to the extent possible and replace the same with pure drinking water.
